How it works

Pencil, paper and a little magic

No drawing skills needed. If it has a head, a body, two arms and two legs, Koalala can make it dance.

1A child's drawing of one character with arms and legs on white paper
Draw

Draw one character on white paper with a dark pen: a monster, a robot, your cat, yourself.

2A drawing whose arms and legs stand apart from the body
Snap

Take a photo or pick one from your library. Koalala finds the character and its arms and legs, right on the device.

3The Big Stage place with red curtains and footlights
Dance!

With a burst of sparkles the drawing steps off the page. Pick a dance, pick a place, and the show begins.

Meet the gang

Koalala and friends

Koalala, a cheeky koala in a red hoodie, guides kids through every step. Five drawn friends are ready to dance from the very first minute, and every drawing your child makes joins the gang.

My worlds: the child's worlds framed on the wall
Worlds

Build little worlds full of friends

Put several friends on one stage, give each its own dance and pick the place. Every world hangs on the wall of the playroom like a painting, ready to play again.

  • Several friends dancing together, each with its own moves
  • Drag, turn and resize friends right on the easel
  • Name your worlds and keep them all

Share the show

Save it as a video or a picture

Send grandma a dance. Pick the look (on the easel or just the world), the shape (story, post, square or wide) and a video or a still picture. Every one is signed by Koalala.

  • Story, post, square or wide, on the easel or just the world
  • Video or picture, straight to Photos or any app
  • Sharing is for grown-ups: it sits behind the parental gate

Drawing tips

Four tips for the best dancers

A short, playful guide in the app shows kids what works, with a little quiz the first time.

One friend

One character per page.

Arms and legs apart

Keep them away from the body.

A clear outline

Close the lines all around.

Good light

Plain paper, no shadows.

Print a drawing sheet

For grown-ups

Made to be safe and calm

Koalala is built for the App Store's Kids category: no ads, no accounts, and nothing your child can buy or open outside the app without you.

Parental gate

Purchases, sharing, links and settings open only after a grown-up holds a button for three seconds.

No ads, no accounts

No sign-up, no e-mail, no advertising and no tracking. Ever.

Drawings stay home

Photos are turned into dancers on the device itself. They never reach our servers.

iCloud backup

Friends and worlds are backed up to your family's own iCloud Drive and follow you to a new iPhone or iPad.

Works offline

On a plane or in the car: drawing, dancing and playing need no connection.

Privacy first

Only anonymous app usage and crash reports, never names, photos or drawings. Read the privacy policy.

Questions

Good to know

What age is Koalala for?

Koalala is made for kids aged 6 to 8. Younger children love it too with a grown-up nearby, and older kids enjoy building bigger worlds.

What kind of drawing works best?

One character on plain white paper, drawn with a dark pen or marker, with arms and legs that don't touch the body. The in-app drawing guide shows examples.

Do the photos of drawings leave the device?

No. Finding the character and building its dances happens on your iPhone or iPad. Drawings are only stored on the device and, for backup, in your family's own iCloud Drive.

Does Koalala need an internet connection?

No. Everything works offline. A connection is only used for purchases, iCloud backup and anonymous usage and crash reports.

Can my child buy something by accident?

No. Every purchase sits behind a parental gate that asks a grown-up to hold a button for three seconds, and then the App Store asks for confirmation as well.

Can we use it on several devices?

Yes. With the same Apple Account, Premium works on all your iPhones and iPads, and Family Sharing shares it with up to five family members.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Koalala Premium. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date avoids the next charge. Restore earlier purchases from the grown-ups area in the app.

How do I contact you?

Write to support@kozmonos.com. We read every message.
